(4) Developing JFFS file system based on flash memory
Applications and important data are usually stored in flash file system in the form of files. The JFFS2 file system is log structured, which means that it is basically a long list of nodes. Each node contains some information about the file. JFFS2 is specially created for embedded devices such as flash memory chips, so its whole design provides better flash memory management, so it has incomparable advantages over other file systems. Details are as follows:
● JFFS2 performs flash erase/write/read operations at the sector level better than EXT2 file system.
● JFFS2 provides better crash/power failure protection than Ext2fs. When a small amount of data needs to be changed, the EXT2 file system will copy the entire sector to memory (DRAM), merge it into new data in memory, and then write it back to the entire sector. While JFFS2 can change (not rewrite) the entire sector at any time, and also has the crash/power down safety protection function.
After implementing the above steps, a small Linux operating system is constructed. The constructed Linux includes three parts: process management, memory management and file management. It supports multi task parallel and has a complete tcp/ip protocol. At the same time, Linux has built-in support for Ethernet controller, which can be connected to Ethernet through Ethernet port to realize remote configuration and monitoring.
When porting the trimmed kernel to the target board, the kernel should first be compiled into the target code for the processor. Because the porting startup codes of different hardware systems are different, some kernel programs may need to be rewritten. It involves writing Linux boot code and modifying part of the code related to the architecture, mainly including boot, memory management and interrupt processing. When M-System DOC2000 is used as the startup device of the system, the boot code can be placed on doc. In this way,  3 after the system is powered on, the boot code can perform basic hardware initialization, then load the kernel image into memory and run it, and finally burn the debugged kernel and application program into flash memory. Since the trimmed Linux has been successfully transplanted to the target platform, the application can be developed according to the specific application when the runnable development system is started. Such as data acquisition module, data processing module, communication and data release module and so on.

Using the good man-machine interface and data processing ability of PC, PC is used as the man-machine interface of NC programming to check the syntax of NC programs and preprocess NC programs. After PC preprocessing, the NC program is downloaded to the motion controller, and LPC2214 stores the NC program in flash. During NC processing, LPC2214 reads the processing code from flash, decodes the NC processing program, and calls API functions after decoding to realize NC functions.
As the human-computer interaction interface of the CNC system, the upper PC can complete the functions of NC code editing (or receiving the processing program generated by cad/cam software), syntax checking and code preprocessing, and can communicate with the motion controller, upload the processed NC code parameters to the controller, and receive the (logic) position feedback and drive status information of the controller, so as to realize the monitoring of the whole system. The upper PC program is developed with Visual Basic.
After the basic software and hardware platform of motion controller has been established, the key point of realizing NC application is to convert NC code into API function calls, and the core content is to decode NC machining program.
